I live in Collin County, Texas, an affluent county whose southern half features a huge concentration of high tech industries.
This week, the local newspaper reported that between increased hardship for some local people and the challenges of the New Orleans evacuees who came to live among us, needs were up and donations were down at the local food pantry. The pantry asked for chili, canned fruit and brown beans (not green). This song imagines human need among the machines.
