I’m weak in the knees for this one: I love 6/8 time, and this one, with the drop-beat piano that totally fits Sassygal’s vocals and your awesome backing vocals, is - dareIsay - silky sexy!

Hey Admiral, Thank you, it was hard to decide what to do with this one because several remixes had already been done and Scomber, being the exceptional producer that he is, must have gone forward in the future and sucked the melody from my brain and came back and did it before me.(smile) So I decided to stick with the other basic. The approach was definitely about letting the vocal breath and be showcased without crowding it. As I said, Sassygal has a lovely tone to her voice and it needed very little polish to shine.

Peace! ;)-

Thanks dude, this was a real pleasure to work on. As soon as I got the assignment, I started to work on this and was finished by the following day. The problem with that was I loved the finished product so much that it was torture waiting to put it up and get the feed back. Thanks for listening.

Peace! ;)~

Smooth, old-fashioned soul melody married to a lovely vocal. You’ve really put together a simple, charming sound for this song. Working in this type of material, it would have been easy to go too far with it, but it’s really mixed very nicely. It’s a rich sound, but not overdone. You really had a good ear for what works with this vocal. Cool bass line. I like the backing vocals. Very nicely done.

Gurdonark, Thank you so much for your comment. I always let the vocal guide me then the muscian in me takes over. I love playing live and I love the aspect of that live feel retained in the recording. I think that most musicians will tell you that they love to perform live because it is the purist form of playing. No mechanics, no faders, no tricks. Just you and your instrument and Sassygal uses hers very well. Thanks again.

Well Mykle, its a bumpin and a grinding in all the right places. It reminds me a little of those slow dances at school all wanting to dance with the same girl.lol.The track has an 80s sound in that way, suits the pella perfic!

Thank you so much Mykle.
I was so excited when I saw the upload notification.
Even more so after a few listens.
Your restraint is sublime and your backing vocals blow me away.
Much of what I’d like to say has already been said above, a simple slow dance says it in one.
Wow. Great. :)

I must admit I had no prior knowledge of you before the mixter event. I am not on often. I’ll have a look in for a few days to see what’s good then work takes me away but I am so glad to know you and even more so to become familiar with your lovely voice. Truely the pleasure was all mine and I thank you.

I’m blown away with this Mykle.
It is every thing Sassy and I envisioned when we sat down and nutted out the melody and lyrics.
We tracked it against the backing of Snowflakes song “Bewildered”.
What this proves is the power of anonymous collaboration - something that ccM excels in - someone starts a conversation - which can grow into a thousand possibilities - each as fresh as the last - with its own heritage tracing back to the one original inspired moment.
If you were to post the stems to this - I think we could take it to another place altogether.
Love this place. Thanks mate for your generous and kind words.

The pleasure was, without a doubt, mine sir. When I heard the track I knew exactly where you were going and I am glad you provided the canvas for this track. It was one of those that when you finish and listen back to you say oh man, that is really nice. There are a few things for me that could have been better but you know how it is when you’re a producer. You have to just say enoughs, enough and put it out there to get that all important feed back. This has been, for me, the best forum in the world besides being on stage to explore all my musical experiments. What you’ve given me back is growth and the ability to explore music from all angles. Thank you for your kind words and I’m glad I was able to return the smile you put on my face. I will upload the stems shortly.

Peace! ;)~

Your adds are money. Respectful of the vocals, enhances them intsead of overpowering them, with a timeless, classic soul ballad arrangement.

Oh brother.

I was listening to the verse which is perfectly nice and all - like an appetizer - but then the bridge and refrain hit and I just completely melted.

The harmonies are stunning and the mixing is bang on - nothing out of place here, and no unnecessary elements. Fantastic track.

Very nice! Within seconds of pressing play I was waiting for “If You Don’t Know Me By Now” to kick in. :)

Your chord progression continually surprised me (in a good way!) throughout the song. I never knew quite where you were going, but you take the listener there with such patience and care that it didn’t matter. Bravo!

Mykle!!!!! Oh my! This is absolutely goregeous. Classic. Love-ilicious. I agree with all the wonderful things said before — the timing, the pacing, your vox, the strings. Just wonderful. (sorry for being late to the party — I’ve been working myself sick, literally.)
