This is delightful Kara. Really impressed by the drums and bass. As usual, the vocals and lyrics are rich.

Thank you, SS! I’m glad to hear that about the drums and bass. They’re both midi. I tried to keep them simple and make them sound live.

Delightful indeed. Lovely vid too. You know I respect you a lot but I must say the cat stole the show this time.

Well, thank ya’! Yeah, Murmur really knows how to ham it up. :) I was totally jazzed when I saw that she ended up in the best take… takes the pressure off of me!

It’s always a huge pleasure listening to your voice because it’s so full of life and warmth, and then there are the excellent lyrics from a deep-thinking and delightful mind. MMT indeed! Lovely song and lovely performance with Ms Murmur on YouTube. You have a new fan - my sister Tina was spellbound and then she insisted on hearing ‘Cat Deformity’ and loved it. Fantastic

So kind! Thank you, Ciggi and Tina. My ego is supremely boosted and I’m now ready to take on the world! RARRRRR! Thanks for sharing my ditties with Tina! I’m so glad she enjoyed. Hope you two (and Mark!) are having a blast!

Nicely done MMT. Love the music, the vocals and you’re style of delivery! All good in my books.

you’re among that blessed elite group who take lyric writing down unexpected paths. like the best poetry, your work always delights, inspires and surprises. that whole uke thing is a pretty darn good idea, too.

Whoa- that’s one heck of a compliment! Thank you so much, panu. I’ve been having so much fun focusing on love songs and ukulele… it’s actually creatively helpful to have made this restriction. AND thinking about love all the time certainly brightens my mood!

Nice, I think the cat probably thought you wrote that song for him :D

You’re probably right. I suppose that’s okay… I’ve got plenty of love to share. :) Thanks for listening, Jeris.

I guess I’ll have to third “delightful” as words are not forming yet for me today, but truly - always a pleasure. (Is that Polly Dactyl?)

Thank you, Speck! That is, indeed, Polydactyl Super Cat in the flesh. She absolutely loves going outside, eating grass, and puking it up (once back inside, of course, and always on the carpet instead of the kitchen tile).

another great song - almost seems a shame to remix it - just perfect as it is.

Thank you. That’s really, really nice to hear… it’s pretty much the album version. However, I’d love to hear the direction someone else (wink, wink) could take it. The ways a song can be transformed is so magical to me.

Always nice to hear this particular voice. Refreshing and spontaneous.
Honestly, I like to listen to this simplicity …. and sometimes I wonder, why make it complicated, when it can be so simple, with your talent.
Question to ponder ….

Thank you, VickyDan. I started with music as a folk singer-songwriter… performing shows with just a guitar… So I know what you mean about simplicity. When I joined my bandmate in 2004, I developed an ear for remixes and electronic production. I still feel like simplicity can be more intimate, but so often remixes bring out a part of the music that was hidden by the simplicity (new melodies, new moods, stirring emotions, intriguing variety, etc.). I guess it’s fun to refuse the either/or and enjoy both… (Sorry for the rambling…)

You do not have to be sorry, I understand, and it’s nice from time to time, a flash-back.
This allows us to go back often to a good foot ….
Continue still in your “simplicity” it’s a style that you realize very well …. Dan

is it just the ukelele that makes me smile as I listen to this? I think not. I think it’s your love coming through not only as sweetly expressed in the lyric, but also in the tone of your voice and your timing. Another gem!

I’m delighted that this both made you smile and feel the love! :D (I actually make sure I’m smiling whenever I record a song like this… it seems to help get that feeling across…)

You have some rare talent in finding those sarcastic/relaxing/happy melodies, i love them. A truly artist. This song is wonderful, congratulations Mind Map That!

Thank you, DICE! You have the rare talent of taking vocals and finding amazing alternate melodies to highlight them… plus, your production skills are top notch! (We’ve created quite the mutual admiration society, eh?)

Love it, its so Uklectic. (hehe I just made that up - get it? Ukelele and Eclectic?)

I feel like I’m watching a one-act play but I can’t see anything.

Ha! Well, I did include her in the YouTube video’s title and a little thank you in the description. She doesn’t seem upset about not being in the credits… in fact, I’d say she doesn’t care one bit! (She’s curled up and asleep on her favorite chair right now.)
