i know I previously discouraged pontificating in the reviews but you opened this can of worms so this will be the exception for me.

I’m only going to say this and be done with it. ccmixter should be about music first. It really is an international global village with different views on politics, religion, and other personally held viewpoints, and probably should be careful about acting as a “voice” of the community at large on such matters. The one thing everyone shares globally here is a love of music, but we are all pretty diverse otherwise, and to expect otherwise is kind of narrow minded. Doing so risks alienating users that don’t share your views. But everyone loves music. No problem there.

Everything else (politics, purpose, intent, mission) is secondary noise that gets in the way. And creates friction. Everyone needs to take a deep breath and exhale. Go listen to some Cool Music. Put that in your peace pipe and smoke it. Chill. Peace.
