It is as bad as they say on the news. I had no power or phone for almost a week. A lot of people up here still have no power, phone or heat. Insanity.
For those who don’t know, Mother Nature dumped about two feet of wet snow overnight. With trees that still had leaves. Most of the trees in our area have been destroyed by the weight. Total insanity. *meow* |

It was totally crazy. Especially because two feet of snow here means things shut down for a day, not because of any horrible disaster, but because they need to clear the roads and you need to shovel out. :-P It was a freak storm, and I’m more stressed by the loss of the trees than the power lapse. Buffalo is (or was?) well known for its incredible number of trees. For example, our main park had a bit over 5000 trees. Of all of them, about 500-600 are expected to survive. It’s just … mind-boggling.
