My friend Adrienne Pearson of Readership Hostile started a Facebook group called Death to Silence Political Art Collective. the idea is to flood the internet with political and activist art on January 20, 2017 — inauguration day in the United States. She describes the group as follows:
“Hello Everyone! I’ve invited you to this group because I think we can use our art and creative talents to unite people and make a change. Here is what I would like to do: I would like to fill the internet with political based art on JANUARY 20, 2017 INAUGURATION DAY!!!! Write a song, paint a picture, collaborate with people. Film it and post it. Let’s show our unity and educate people through our art!!!! I want this to stretch across the world. WE WILL BE HEARD!” The plan includes tagging your inauguration day upload of political art with the hashtag #deathtosilence. (The hashtag for this event may change.) If want to join the Facebook group, let me know and I will invite you. |

Greetings all — It is my intention to put together a special Mixin Kitchen playlist of protest songs — sounds of activism, action, politics, environmental action and peace — for the presidential inauguration later this week as a contribution to the Death to Silence Political Art Collective that aims to fill the internet with protest art on January 20.
If you have a track, or know of a song on ccMixter that you think would be a great addition, leave a message here with a link to the url of the track, and I will try to add it to the playlist. Your contribution is much appreciated! |

SackJo22, this is fantastic! Piero Peluche and I happen to have a track that fits the bill… here’s a link:

Thanks! Added a couple of these to the playlist. By the way, on WakeUp WakeUp you remind me of Iggy Pop. That is a good thing. Hang in there!
