A cool acoustic guitar gives way to a really cool lead line. It’s a bit too far “up” for me, but perhaps that’s of a piece with the genre. The vocals lay in nicely with the riff, and you didn’t have to emasculate the riff to make it all fit, which is good mix. Overall, all the levels seem a tad high to me, though, and might benefit from a little pull back—not too much, because you don’t want to homogenize the sound, but a bit. My little media player shows near-level issues, though I don’t really hear clipping.

This one rocks! A nice solo in the middle, dirty, and yet melodic and appropriate. I wish I could play guitar when I hear bits like this.

I think it would have been fun to create more contrast in the piece, like putting the “hitching a ride” lines over just that acoustic in the itnro, and then let the riffs fade back in and rock out.

A good rock reading here.

I agree with you. I might do another version with some more variety. I just followed the vocal structure of the original tracks for this version. I thought the original needed more heavy guitar and less electronics and effects.
