As far as I know there is no law against free hugs in Germany (even for 2 or more)!

But for beer you normally have to pay - even if you are not an ASCAP member. lol

Actually if you read Section 3244, Sub Section 645242, Sub Sub Section 5352426 B of the “Spontaneous Emotions Act” you will see that unlicensed hugs must only last a maximum of 2.25 seconds otherwise you will subject to a fine and/or imprisonment. Also, applications to commit spontaneous acts of human emotion must be submitted 2 weeks in advance of the actual act, and are subject to approval by the local Emotion Licensing Committee

Shall they try it… I’d be glad to have another reason to fight GEMA. If they find Stevens name in their database, they’d try to claim money. But if he tells me that ASCAP allows him, to release music under CC, I trust him and it is not my problem to proof the opposite.

Btw I am thinking about to produce a CD with songs from this project, just to slap GEMA faces another time. :)

I haven’t registered anything with ASCAP in years. I figured anything done here automatically fell under cc jurisdiction. After reading what this was all about I wrote that lyric thinking it may help the cause. An ASCAP member using creative commons. I wasn’t looking to get on a CD. I am on several websites and some of the work I have done here has helped build a nifty Little fan base.lol . I had a CD for sale through Reverbnation ( My own music ) and have since taken that down and now offer everything I have for free download.I am not the only ASCAP member on this site, I know of 1 other. I have recently changed my views on the making of music and really just do this for the love of it.I have been active here lately because I am on Vacation…lol..I am a trucker these days. I really believed this site was not for songwriters but due to the nice response I have been getting on sites like Reverbnation I have changed those views. So…I am really starting to enjoy this place and you could say I am a cc mixter man now.lol If I could get myself on a writers staff somewhere.I would quit driving trucks in a heartbeat!…lol

PS…I also wanted the tune to be different from the others I have heard so far.
