Sigh…. I still can’t believe that happened. It just seems completely impossible that even a single person could possibly think this individual could possess even one of the qualities the job calls for - never mind 50 million people believing it.

This song kind of puts that sentiment into an eloquently angry lament, something I’m not suited to writing but glad you are. I’m just going to have to ignore the news for the next four years, and hope somebody hides the nuclear football in a closet, along with the Twitter-installed cellphone.

Yes I makes you think who would possibly vote for such a person.
But then it’s the same here, think I’ll move to Scotland where there seems to still be a modicum of common sense.

Thanks for using the samples.

You seem angry and rightly so. At the same time I can’t help being worried about how the western world is being polarized. The middle class seem to be be vanishing and we’re ending up with two groups, the privileged and the non-privileged (the latter the ones who were left behind by the uneven distribution of wealth, jobs and welfare) I belong to the privileged but can understand the frustration and contempt for the elite that made people vote for a populist and notorious liar who says he’s going to make everybody’s life better.
By the way, your singing gets more and more confident with every upload.

“…can understand the frustration and contempt for the elite”

Yes, of course. What I can’t understand is why one would then vote for the elitest of the elite. That’s just stupid.

And then to give the election to the candidate with nearly three million less votes than his opponent. That’s just maddening.

I share your frustration as everything the man will do will affect the rest of the world in a less than positive way.

Haha! Well, I love this. Connecting the dots. It’s all so true. All so sad. And lyrically, fantastically expressed here. Excellent vocal delivery, too.

I go from utter despair to forced hopeful at such a rapid rate these days… Never thought we’d go back to the Bush years… only amplified. Gawwww… Here’s to the fight!

“…from utter despair to forced hopeful”

Yep. The other day I read a list of intended actions put out by the new regime and I actually agreed with about half of them. So the needle goes up a bit on the hope-o-meter. Then I remember that he and his cronies all spent long lives in the sole pursuit of their own wealth. No evidence any of them have ever done anything selfless. Plus they’re all liars anyway. Back to despair.

“…back to the Bush years… only amplified.”

One step forward, two steps back. (This old favorite of mine from ‘back in the day’ has been in my head a lot lately.)
