Thanks for the pre delay tip. That’s worth a try! I’ve already cut the vocals in the 630Mhz region (and some others). But somehow, this boxiness has grown together with the character of the song, for my ears.

Now, months later I’m mixing and mastering my songs. This is still a learning phase, because after a ten year break, I only started recording digitally last year. The other stems in this song are recorded rather poorly. I was just one of those times you record a song and everything seems to fall into place at once. And you start to think that when you touch the songs afterwards, you ruin part of the magic. So I only remixed, not re-recorded.
