This is insane! The whole secret mixter this year is just a hotbed of inspiration. I don’t think you can get away any longer with apologies for your work — your talent bursts forth from everything you touch. Obviously, you don’t back down from a challenge. You are amazing! And I love how this mix, like so many of the mixes showing up today, touches on themes of inspiration, awakening, consciousness and opening up. Absolutely WOW!!!!

Wow. I know you don’t produce much but this is amazing, I would have thought you a seasoned pro. It keeps my attention through out, and I love unique sound you have here. I especially like the backing vocals ;)

Yes, very infectious. Isn’t it great that a song can evoke such a strong feeling as happiness? This one does.

Quote: I can’t believe I got spinningmerkaba (Victor, are you sure this thing ain’t rigged?)!
I would think that because you got him (and I got you last time!) proves it’s not rigged ;) This mix, of course, is freakin brilliant. Wow!!!!! |

Often what I can usually do is see where someones musical influences come from by the choices they make in what they do.
With you, i haven’t a clue, and that could be a first. Its always original fresh and surprising. The only constant fingerprint is that voice. |

Bloody good. Great piecing together and mixing, and beautiful vocal touches to tie it all together.
Nice. |

What is so striking is that you have created a song with a message about music with a score that proves the point! It sounds beautiful Emily - those harmonies you are singing are transporting. Magic!

You know by now how much I love your voice, but you’re also taking to producing like a fish to water. When I compare some of your official past release catalog to what you’ve recently been uploading here, I really like where you’re headed when you remix. It seems to take you into new, less predictable places and I really like what I hear. So I can only hope that the new responsibilities won’t stop you from making lots of music, because that would make me cry.
confession: I snuck a listen last night, but refrained from commenting at that time, so you wouldn’t feel so stalked :-) |

thanks so much spin….means a lot from you. yes, ccmixter has pushed the way i create music, well, into something i never thought possible.
i’m dedicated to making sure musical creation is always a priority! hell, we did the secret mixter in the middle of this transition! i love sleepless nights, spent lost in headphones in the dark while down in the rabbit hole called ‘mix’! i wouldn’t feel stalked btw ;) |

Hey, Snowflake!!!
I like this one!!! So “Cold-cut“‘ish!!! :) Keep on the good work!!! |
.
thanks! yes, the transitions are a bit ‘cold-cut’ to my dismay. this was my first building a song from samples (opposed to writing/playing an entire song with instruments as a bed track). i think the part ideas are good but that transitions are rushed and not quite there….i’m in the process of bouncing my song stems in case someone with great transition building skills wants to remix my remix (someone like you!)….

Modern, smart and exciting. Lots of surprises in there. It has so many colours that it_s not easy to categorize it for a musical style and that_s the best thing of it.
Compliments! |
