wow. that’s really beautiful! Smooth and sophisticated.
Not a criticism, but I would have liked to have heard your fantastic voice untreated in more of it (tho I like the effect too) It’s a great pleasure to be in the mix. |

The pleasure is mine. I could write songs all day long if I had pretty little seed pearls like this one.
I’ve added an alternative mix - just for you - where all I did was sweeten the raw vox track with a little compression and EQ. |

ok — the alternative mix has supplanted the original.

Wow! Being remixed again is such an honor =) I must say that the old dog piano added so much to the song… Superb version again, it’s very cool to hear these different vocals on the same song. I can see myself drinking a sweet cocktail, in a beach cafe, while the sun goes down. Your languorous voice will fit very well in this case :) THANKS!!!

oldDog’s piano did add a lot, but the song has good bone structure, which is evident in your track. Thanks so much for letting me have my way with it.

Ohhh … that voice, Melody. Husky, incredibly musical, sensual. You’re a bit of a goddess yourself! This is gorgeous and I’d be pressing that recommend thumb for sure if oD hadn’t got there first. Pure deliciousness. xxxx

Oh thank you so much, Ciggi. I was hoping you’d like it. And as far as the goddess thing goes, here’s a little story: When I handed off one of my Calling Sister Midnight business cards to a local radio personality, the only one I had was with the fetishistic image of stacked heels and fishnet stockings. For this trip into town I happened to be wearing white men’s socks and clogs, and I had to hold up my battle green army pants so you could see the socks. I’m pretty sure goddesses are supposed to refrain from this type of footwear.

Love that story! I have days like that all the time. My God, I have whole years like that! xxxx

Another fine continuation of material. Your toungue-in-cheek (I hope) lyrics are a treat and your ability to hold a note is impressive. Good stuff.

Thank you! I was thinking of a take on the idea of the lyrics to “Girl From Ipanema” by Astrud Gilberto. The backing tracks are tongue-in-cheek, so it only follows :-)

both ’s up for the alternative mix. While I’m a big fan and guilty of quite a bit of voice modification in much of my remixing work, in the context of this accompaniment, your voice sounds so much purer and more powerful without modulation type fx (flange/chorus/phase shift, etc.). And what a voice it is! Most certainly consistent with the image on your business card. :-)

Thanks so much for your gracious comments. I’m liking the plain mix myself these days and maybe I’ll end up swapping the files around.

This made me very happy to listen to - but what’s worse is that it inspires me.
Sigh. Inspiration. Whatever will come next. You’re a good kid. Glad to have heard so much of your music this year, and hope you stick around next one too. |
.
so good it’s bad and vice versa. Can’t wait to hear what it inspired. I’m sticking around for sure.

This was such a pleasure to listen to. Although, I admit that I side with Panu in preferring the alternative mix with the clearer vocals. Your voice is gorgeous!
