I have always been intrigued by the orchestra percussionists — amazed at their patience and concentration, and grateful for their ooph and hits, which sometimes are just the wakeup call I need when a symphony gets to the sleeepy stage. Kudos to them, and to you for this creative and thoughtful tribute to the underappreciated bangers!

Very dramatic and exciting. But it has me thinking of that famous kiss between Burt and Deb in ‘From Here to Eternity’ rather than romantic elephants. Does that matter? I still enjoyed it enormously.

Having played the trumpet in what can be best described as something between a brass band and an orchestra, I don’t share your appreciation for the percussionists, because we trumpet players were seated just in front of them. But I do like this tune.

Wow—that’s pretty cool. Total reworking of everything. You did a great job synching the three basic elements up.

Nice one RT. Percussionists are a strange breed. I think its something to do with them being stuck up the back away from the first line of groupies.
While the guitarist and front men weave through the bar after a gig, the poor old drummer is still packing up his stuff or fighting off requests like..”hey Dave, can you help me move house tommorrow, seeing you have such a big van and capable arms”. Sadly the drum solo seems to have faded from fashion with cordoroy, paisley and puffy sleeves. |
