That was an awesome night…both thrilling and tragic! The Band was in top-notch form and the crowd was wild and receptive - but at the finale of the piece, I had a dreadful premonition…and left the auditorium. Later that night - on the twisting and sharp curves above
the French Rivera on the A-8 - the band and their driver plummeted to their shared demise. Fortunately I was not with them…having foreseen the whole thing! But what night!
ps: I did have their names each emblazoned on small semaphore flags as tattoos across my back in memory.
