First of all, use “manage remixes” to search out the freesound sample, and give it proper attribution. I find that it’s easiest to get the freesound project number for the sample, as the search engine picks this up well.
This is a very creative remix, in which the experiment is subordinated to the musicality of the mix. A few of the timings don’t line up, and some of the sounds don’t quite work. Still, the use of scratch, glitch, and dissonance, coupled with some nice mood-setting musical touches, really sets off well against this a capella. Lately I hear these wonderful vocal tracks and think they deserve a really light, airy feel, so as to let their inner beauty stand out. Yours achieves that. I’m not giving this 5 stars, as it has some mix issues, but such silly star things don’t change the fact that this is inventive and refreshing and I say “kudos!”. |

Thanks very much for a helpful review. I’ve corrected the attribution.
I’m going to leave it for a while, then listen again to search out some of the timing problems; and maybe suck out some mud where that air doesn’t get fully aired. |
