Wow, that was fast — thanks for your service. Nobody knows where it’s going to end up, and that’s half the fun.

One thing: for the relay to be more transparently trackable, I think subsequent “legs” ought to be uploaded as remixes? Even though they’re not really? Tough call; your thouhts?

I agree - tough call.
Seems like it’s both samples and remix in progress. Maybe if everybody that joins in also uploads their contribution (additional files) it’s still a sample upload?

We’ll just wait and see what people choose to do.

(The MixterPlus version is going to have a special “zone” for relays to happen, so this won’t be an issue over there..)

I’m a big fan of the didge and it’s a great addition. Hope to grab the baton this Friday when I hope have some recording time…. unless someone beats me to it! (Which is also cool!)

My vote is to upload these as remixes for a couple reasons: 1. so credit follows and it’s easier know who’s part of the relay, where it’s gone and where it’s going 2. The relay will likely get more attention being in the remix section.

But yeah, the additional files should definitely be uploaded with the “remix.”

Also, a question regarding the didge… have you learned circular breathing? Any tips? I have yet to figure out how…

Those are two very good reasons for uploading as remixes.

The didge is a sampled didge and I just played two notes on a keyboard.

Ahhh… so the secret to circular breathing is a keyboard! I can do that!

:)

Your inquiry prompted me to go to you tube to watch/hear some Rahsaan Roland Kirk, my favorite circular breather. While there I did see a handful of people claiming they’ll teach you circular breathing.
