I love it when a remix takes an idea in a new direction, as you have here.
I love deep house, so it’s great to hear you reconfigure. The buzzing lows work pretty well—I wonder if perhaps a filter plug-in could take away a bit of the deepest lows, and yet keep the “deep” feel you have here. I think you were wise not to add a bunch of new synths, though I could imagine some little bordering smooth backing zips and zaps and sonic spins appropriate to this genre. thank you for making such a creative use of my samples! |

Thanks for the nice review and advice!
I already EQed out some of the sub bass, but it seems to me the buzzing spreads on a large part of the spectrum so I can’t really reduce it that way. In fact, I really like how the resonant buzzing sounds on my speakers, but I’ve just found out it sounds really awefull on headphones : the buzzing is irritating instead of deep, and the whole track seems out of tune (well, I think one or two notes might well be out of tune, but my speakers never tell me the truth about those things! :-) |
