I like both tracks. However, this one absolutely had me sitting silently not wanting it to ever end. The guitar is so beautiful and clean, and this lonely lake scape you provide underneath her gritty disturbed lyrics is perfect. Jaspertine! You kill me.

I think this is awesome. I might even say my favorite of your mixes so far. It sounds so much more natural to me. Amazing work. Great sounds.

I hear you. I’ve struggled with the same impulse to try and “make a hit”. It’s when you give up on trying to please people and let the art take the shape it needs, that’s when the good stuff happens.

and this is definitely the GOOD stuff!

i really like this. beautifully balanced and fantastic sounds. Excellent blend of sounds, especially the reversing pads, I just love how they “blend” into each other like colours. Brilliant mixing!

This remix really works. It’s cohesive, it’s lovely, and it’s got an ethereal downtempo grace. I think it’s a good thing to make the song you wish to make, because it’s rare that anyone else will make that. I think of a music remix community as a social network community, and thus not immune to some of the interactions that are part of such things, but when it all shakes out, you have to do what you have to do. I think you did that here, and a post-rock downtempo take on it really works. It re-invents the song and yet conveys the same spirit that the uptempo rocker of the original communicates—which is really a fun thing that two such disparate readings on the melody can achieve the same feel to the song.

You should say F##k it more often…cause this is seriously seriously beautiful. This stopped me in my listening tracks this morning. The grittiness of her vocals is softened yet honed to a perfect edge by your arrangement.

Wonderful!

I’ve kept a copy of this mix handy for some time. It’s one of my ccMixter favorites for its beautifully executed ambience.
