really good, but a little too.. dirty. i would love to hear those guitars real crisp,,

I was rather fond of the dirt myself. Gave it the atmosphere of being performed in a sleazy bar.
I’ll see if I can do a cleaner mix. If it’s not up by the end of the week, then it probably didn’t work out. |

I kinda wish I’d read this post before doing a complete overhaul of the mix.
Check out my old School mix to hear a much brighter and more present sound. And no, I didn’t run the whole thing through distortion. The slide guitar was recorded with a virtual amp and just happened to come out slightly dirty, the lead was recorded with all out distortion, and the drums were treated to a combination of heavy compression and controlled clipping. The whole thing was mixed to sound thick and muddy, and that contributed to the dirty sound more than the distortion itself. |

Hell’s Bells! I love it. Thanks for using those drums; you did a fantastic job in the treatment of ‘em. Just crawlin’ out from the OK ice storm, and it’s good to see there
was some artistic expression connected with myself happening while I’ve been off-line. |
