Thanks, can you tell by now that I really wish I played bass? The software is pretty expressive these days played on a keyboard, but yea…secretly, I wish I was Jaco…lol.

This is phenomenal! Amazing what you can do with basically just 2 chords.

Also awesome that you got the spoken word to line up so perfectly to the measures. Not to mention the powerful words and delivery by Suzi.

The one thing keeping this from being perfect for me is the “Don’t Worry” vocals being a little too offbeat for my tastes.

All the same this is still fantastic work!

Hey man. Always appreciate the tips, as usual, I did this really late so I think my ears stop working at some point..lol.

When I get home I’ll see if I can fix the timing. If it seems off to me, I might just remove it, it’s a different song anyway.

Actually, just listened to it…think I am going to just take it out, doesn’t really work lyrically either.

And it’s 3 chords… ; )

I love it, and totally agree about ‘don’t worry’ in the beginning - I hope you will upload the new version!

Really? I actually liked the lyrics and melody of that part personally. It felt kinda like an old record player in the background which I thought was cool. I just thought it needed a little timing tweak.

And I know it’s 3 chords if you count the passing chord, that’s why I said “basically 2” lol :P

Haha, that’s the passing OUT chord, more like.
Well, the artist has spoken and she wants it cut, so I think she wins on this one ;)

Wow! I don’t know how many chords are there, but it’s an a-w-e-s-o-m-e mix.
You put the bar up high. It will be a hard work to keep up with you
By the way, aren’t you thinking about to go a little holiday ? …8-10 years on the Mars? :)

Haha, supposedly in 8-10 yrs with enough $ you CAN take a trip to Mars.

Did you know there’s snow on Mars? And water on the sun? I find that fascinating

Yes, the sun contains every elements, including oxygen and hydrogen. …but water?
At any rate, I’ll put a bottle of beer in my backpack. :)

Sounds all good to me :)
For me the rhodes is the icing on the cake. The bass is that crunchy biscuit base that threatens to stick to the cake tin.

Ha ha nice;) yea I used a real Rhodes and a fake one on this. Creates an interesting sound layer.

Sorry I’m late to the party. This is amazing. So often spoken word pieces feel like they are dropped on top of backings but this mix really shows what a perfect marriage between a musical setting and a fantastic spoken piece can achieve. Congratulations, really nice work.
