The fx to create a “concert hall” feel are well done. The solid riff is very appealing here. The vocals are placed just right in the piece, but the percussion is not audible enough, which in this type of work is a real loss to the piece. In order to achieve one great thing—the vocal sound—it sounds as if you traded the best sound for some of your other elements. The riff is good enough to sustain a lot of repetition, but it would be great to hear some of the other natural chord progressions arise in this song, particiularly as they would easily fit. I’m always having to revise my own “fade outs”, so I don’t feel overly wordy to advise you to go back and put a real fade extro in.
I keep thinking there should be a break with a guitar solo here—that would really leaven it up. If not a guitar solo, then an electronica solo with a MIDI-guitar=like voice. Solid, but ultimately not enough here. |
