Nice laid back track and as for the mastering well you seem to have it mastered.

This is a great mix. Snowflake pella and alex stems work so well together. Mastering sounds good to me, first I thought it was distorting a bit but that was ccM webplayer doing that.
Like I said to alex I would have used a mono kick. Even more in this track then the original because for me it feels bigger, wider, then the rest of your parts. But thats just me…

Thanks for the kind words. I would not have known or thought of adding a mono kick for added oomph, so I really appreciate the input!

First, it’s wonderful to hear your singing voice and your gift for stunning harmonies. Second, the track is so inventive and intelligent. Third, it sounds fantastic. You are a mixer, SJ!

This is a great piece, Susan. I agree with AA about the kick, but maybe it was intentional.

Thank you — I appreciate that yo listen. The kick was not intentional at all as I replied to AA — but now I’ll know for next time (or if I find time to tweak this mix).

I like the choir-like vocals and the forward building energy. Everything sounds real good/clean. My only critique is that when the kick comes in it’s such a hard sound in it’s softer surroundings, maybe it would be more in keeping with the general expanding/emerging nature of the piece to introduce it quietly and do a long fade up to full about 3/4 way through the track, when everything else is in full swing. Just a thought.

Thanks for the thoughtful input — I like your idea. I might just try it out!

I think part of that problem is the fact that your drum is made stereo. There are a few milliseconds time diffrence between the left and right channel making it sounding allmost twice as big.
Just like I have said that before I also have to say again that its a really great song

Excellent singing and the mix is certainly nothing to worry about. The arrangement has a very nice, almost hypnotic tension about it that I like very much. Nice job, S.

Thank you Per. I tried a lot of different things to avoid having the various vocal parts end up a muddy mess.

Fabu-lo-so, Sack-jo! Such a nice mellow intro… and then as soon as that bass drum got kickin’ you really spiked my anticipation… and Ooooh the harmonies… I love nothing more than layers and layers of beautiful harmonies! YESSS! This is just wonderful.

I’m so glad to know you enjoyed this MMT! Thank you. (By the way, I have not had a chance to sing your bits — work has me worn out. Sorry.)

Susan - this is really something -
you know how I feel about vocal harmonies already - and your mixing seems pretty seamless to me…
love the whole mood and a great use of the applied “theme”!

Wow, this is great. I love the melodies used and how you’ve panned the bass drum allowing the twingy melodic guitar work to dance around the mid section.

Your panning choices have made this really spacial and it works really well. Nice build too.
