Everything about this is so beautiful: the music, the harmonies, the words, your voice - both speaking and singing, and the intention behind this piece. It soothes and uplifts and relaxes. It’s completely lovely, Susan. xxxx

I love how the music cradles the cadence of the speech. Just gorgeous.

I don’t think I’ve heard such warmth in a sad song since Mary Chapin Carpenter sang “10,000 miles.” Wow.

Yes. This is what I was talking about earlier. Beautiful writing and just terrific delivery of reading the words.
Very very nice. My only issue with this track is that there is some clipping when the backing vocals first enter. That said, this is terrific work. Expect the spoken word to be picked up by one or two people. :) |

Simply gorgeous. Great music, Susan.
Lead vocal track could use some smoothing (limiter or volume envelope tweaks) and less sibilance. Wrt background vocal, Colab already noted. |

Sadness and beauty combined make this a great track. I love it! To quote Ozzy off an old Black Sabbath album, “I’m going through changes”. Your voice is sweeter than Ozzy’s, though :)

Ha! You sound nothing like Ozzy. But if you did… Emimen might sample one of your songs, as he did with Black Sabbath’s “Changes” on his latest.

gorgeous susan. beautiful work with the source….and your pella is, well, mystical.
if you do another mix, since a couple folks have mentioned it, my input would be, maybe turn down your leadvox just 1 db, and then EQ….try turning down a little of the high end (maybe around 2k or 3k?), then maybe a bit of overall compression? this track is so beautiful! |

Absolutely beautiful. Quite a contrast having just listened to TRF’s version of Whiskey Down. “The beauty of creation is in it’s diversity…” I think it was Spock that said that. Anyway… In this piece you manage to create a fully engaging musical backing, equally engaging spoken word, and put them together in a way that my mind/heart was focused on each equally. Not an easy thing to do. Great piece. By the way - I think the word is detritus, not detrius. (Now I feel like I’ve just told someone they have spinach in their teeth.)

Hmmm….despite poor Internet connection in France I managed to download the pella and made my own mix down there. Hadn’t heard this. It’s actually more beautiful than my own version. So beautiful, Susan. Really.
