This track is being ContentID claimed through the group BPM Network on behalf of ArtisTech Media on YouTube. These claims are a violation of the explicit waiver of royalty collection rights in the Creative Commons Attribution license, which states “The Licensor waives the right to collect royalties, whether individually or, in the event that the Licensor is a member of a collecting society that administers voluntary licensing schemes, via that society, from any exercise by You of the rights granted under this License.”

So here’s how this works. There’s been a lot of misappropriation of ccMixter’s content over the years (music used without attribution, or even passed off as the original creation of the videographer), and YouTube’s Content ID has helped protect against that. Content ID is not meant to be a problem for anyone who has used the material here correctly.
Content ID’s applicability depends on whether the used material is properly attributed. Needless to say, a videographer loses CC-BY’s protections if they have not abided by its terms. If the YouTuber in question has attributed correctly, you can have them contact ccMixter’s admins and they can arrange for any claim to be released. |
