Hmm… interesting. In my opinion the harmonies of the piano and the vocals don’t match.

I’ve gotten that comment from a lot of people, so I’m gonna work on changing the chord progression. Thanks for the feedback.

Sounds very unnatural for me. Very plastic little machine. Specially the drums, I think the drums samples are very important to give that fake - real smell to a song. A good real drumkit loop will improve the song very very much.. No offend but I hate the toms fills, hehehe… very cheap casio keyboard like, I think percussion sounds kills this song. If you don’t have a way to get good samples of drum sounds or loops ypu could use your casio sounds and add a room reverb to unify the sound a little and make it sound a little more real.

Ahh, you have no idea how much I hear this comment. I would love to work with live drums…but alas, I don’t really have the budget at the moment. I mean, I’ll look in to loops, but I’ve always felt like, that’s not me writing the song, and I’m always big on writing 100% of the music, it’s always been that way with me. Umm… Besides the drums being awful (I actually don’t mind them, but I trust your opinion) what was your opinion of the rest of the song? |

Ok, for drums, I use loops but I slice them, maybe only sometimes use the hihat and move all the samples for fills and different styles, you don’t have to be restricted by the loop, I think the drums in this song are a loop style of an keyboard. look at www.sampleswap.org if you want free samples, it helps for low budgets.
About the rest of the song, keeping apart percussion, I think is very monotonous and tasteless. The music is very sweet or soft, the pianos and all stuff. the problem here is that Brad singing is very monotonous, it seems like he was recording this at 7 o’clock in the morning with sleep. So the acapella is boooring. And if you use this style of vox with a shy music, you ‘ll have a tasteless song. of course, is my opinion and my point of view. |
