Thanks again for inviting me to join you in creating this. Your music took me on a journey… to a memory of my mother. One that reminded me how she always understood. It feels good to be understood, ya’ know? Now that memory has an anthem, thanks to you! (Those guitar additions really rocked this.)

You are welcome, Kara, and I thank you for accepting. I love your words and delivery. My mother never understands (especially music), but that’s another story. As this song was nearing its final state near Mother’s Day, it is very fitting. I love your she-wolf howls, and the fact that we are honest with each other about the co-creation of a song. Keep howling……. FB

This is flat out wild and a Brilliant collaboration! I loved the dynamics in the vocals and the panning was a great touch. The music blew me away as well as all the drums! Oh I dig it!!!
|
.
Glad you liked the panning, Steven. I wanted it to sound like a couple of wolves in the forest but far from their pups. Of course I can’t take credit for the howls as Kara preforms them with a very realistic quality. Thank you for the compliments :)

A stellar collaboration. Great drums, great guitar, great vocals. Excellent piece. Has an ‘all out’ feeling.

.
Thank you so much, Speck. I concur in reference to the vocals. Kara and I do work well together. The ending is pretty far out, but my co-writer approved it, so I let loose the noise.

You rock guys!

Mind Map That! and I both thank you for seeing the merit in our music, to the point that you’d give it an editorial pick. May your guitar be blessed with perfect pitch for 7 years :)

I like when you guys collab, really! A very powerfull stuff. Love it!
It has the early Black Sabbath feel to it and I like it very much!!! Thanks for sampling btw, glad it was usefull :) |
.
Alex-
I’m thrilled that you like it. Your samples have been the backbone of many of my remixes. Funny you should mention early Black Sabbath, as I was listening to that when it was sooooo uncool. If one wanted metal there were such harder bands. However, I am interested in the history of music. Everything comes from something else. Black Sabbath were metal pioneers. It can be traced a bit further back than them. But I’ll decline, from writing a dissertation on the subject here. Thank you for reviewing, and for the sample. FB |

Totally love this one, such much groove!I want to hear it on and on! The staightness reminds me somehow of the legendary Pixies!
|
.
Ah…. the Pixies. One of my fav bands. I think part of what might remind you of them in this piece is Kara’s vocals. She sounds a bit like Kim Deal. Joey Santiago is an influence on my guitar playing as well. Thanks for reviewing :)

|
.
Another cool overlap… love the Pixies. I hadn’t thought of them while working on this… but yeah, I hear it in your guitar for sure.

|
.
That’s one of the coolest comparisons I’ve been part of! Thank you, Hans! I, too, love the Pixies.

That’s allllll FB, I’m curious as well. :)

Ah….. You must be referring to the laser gun sound near the end. I used an old Ibanez DM 1000 from the 1980’s for that effect; The old type with the dials. There are no tempo markers or readouts, so I have to match the tempo by ear. Once that is accomplished it is simply a matter of experimentation with sample and hold. When I hear something I like, I hit the hold button and it will continue as long as I like.

Sounds incredibly like live music, FB

.
Thanks, Texas——- But you have to imagine it as a live band in a forest with wolves all ‘round the campfire. hehehe

Instensely fabulous. Fabulously intense. Bravo and congrats!

.
Our thanks go out to you, Susan! So glad you like it. It started out simply, but once I heard Kara’s wolf howls… I felt the need to set and/or correlate the mood; so more instrumental intensity was added :-)

Many thanks, onlymeith! I have a couple of nice progressive songs in the birthing stage. Been waiting for inspiration, as I’ll not normally force a song. Thank you for the favorable review :)
