I’m a huge Lisa DeBenedictis fan, but I can personally never do a mix of her voice that is any good. This is not a reflection on Lisa, who is eminently mixable, but rather on my limited skills in working with her great samples.

Here you’ve taken on one of my favorite Lisa songs, and you’ve taken an angle on it that’s fun.
I like the way your synths sound, and the dynamic mood of your piece.

For me, the vocals don’t mix with the music very well. I think it’s the minor key sound to Lisa’s voice contrasted with the major-key sound to the song.

I like the forceful sound you’ve gotten here, and the enthusiastic sound of the mix.

As it’s a rough mix, and as I don’t want to toss out some “easy” phrase like in my last review of your work, I’ll say that this one has real potential, and it’ll sound even better when you polish it. I do wonder, though, if it wouldn’t be fun to import more samples, lose the vocals, and go for a straight techno sound.

I purposely off-tempoed the vocals with the track and had the different key, only because that in my mind it makes it sound much different from any other techno song out there. I am definitely going to polish up on some of the effects on the vocals, and add some more samples. Thanks for the feedback!
