First thing that comes to mind:
Set the bpm for the midi file to 20 (or slower). Take a lecture, or poem, any audio of human speech and slice it into one word files. (This would be relatively easy in Audacity.) Load each individual word into a sampler so each key is a different word. Let’s see what kind of word salad The Apoxode Uncertainty Program serves up! |

Thank you, Zenboy1955!
That is a *fantastic* idea, I have a VST that randomizes the playback of individual files, which should approximate what you’ve proposed. If the MIDI file were converted into a sample tracker, it could use the VST instead of the soundfont. I’m thinking possible subjects would be about randomness, chaos, or feeling scattered. The back burner has been set——it’s already simmering :) |

I knew from the title this listen would be a special treat, something you don’t hear everyday, which is what I crave. I leave it satiated, grey matter awakened.

I don’t know how you made the decision for choosing the sound samples, but this reminds me a little of the early work of Jerry Goldsmith (his intro to Chinatown and Planet of the Apes.)
Could certainly be used in a lot of cinematic avant garde stuff. :) |
