About Me
Bend, Sinister exist in that place where only self-taught improvisation can cross-pollinate with classically trained sensibilities, and what emerges is an entirely new set of rules and regulations out to reformulate what standards already exist.
Formed in early 2004 and hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, the limited electronic music resources offered to them have influenced vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Justin Harrison and beat-monger Tom Dinchak’s versatility to a level where they don’t adhere to any particular style or scene. Self-describing their music as “jazzy IDM,” this brand merely hints at the complexities waiting to be heard when the unsuspecting listener dares to download their digital paeans to intrigue and improv. Add a healthy dose of video projection trickery and stripped down tracks only to be redressed on the fly and you can rest assured this is Bend, Sinister live. From the sonic manipulations on their 2004 debut culminatecollapse, jazzy overtones of Undesired Progress and visual vignettes of the video-only Culmination on to their instantly likable experimentally flavored album Glitchpop on enpeg:digital, Bend, Sinister are poised to make their mark in the halls of experimentation and continue their busy release schedule with new material currently being prepared for release as well as form a new netlabel,
