Samples I Used
PD MIDI sample from mutopiaproject.org of the Satie piece. Mixter and freesound samples as shown.
Process
I took the MIDI, which was two tracks of piano, and changed the instrumentation to 1 track ocarina, 1 track plucked bass, 1 track breath noise and 1 track of
music box.
I recorded the result, and then applied echo and chorus plug-ins.
I then layered the mixter samples in underneath.
Other Notes
This piece is arguably the most significant classical piece to the ambient musician.
Sometimes I think it's okay to embrace one's inner MIDI.
