Tools I Used

Ardour, Reason 3 (from Katie's nephew Stephen) He's the closest thing we have to a son of our own, and sometimes sleeps around here as well as visits :)

An open source .rex2 player and we could go all open source!

I have incidentally a licence for Windows 7, it got lost after cleaners cleaned our house. Much like Andy's driving licence when he had it stolen by the DVLA after simply wanting a replacement. To get photo ID in order to sit a computer diploma including security, which Andy passed!

No traffic conviction such as drunk driving or speeding, we sent it to the DVLA in Wales (Wales is not in Essex, legally that's the same legally as California stealing off Kentucky)

Reason runs on Linux just fine, but the copy-protected sound library doesn't, such as drum loops.

No attempt made to circumvent copy protection rules.

We have bought a legitimate copy of Windows 7 and a top-end DAW package!

Yet family understandably don't like clutter and clutter to the non-technical might include software license as you they can look like er, empty cardboard boxes!

Samples I Used

Brillstereodeck's free REX box, downloaded free of the net...

Samples off ccmixter as listed!

Original Samples

Linn 9000, LM1

Process

Ardour3 and KXStudio

Cutting and pasting, looping the drums

Process made difficult because of nasty malware attacks. You can get malware on the Windows platform in legitimate software including legitimate software from trusted sites and paid for Audio CDs!

Audacity will not run correctly on either the DreamStudio or KXStudio Linux Distros, both Ubuntu-based and have good security! That's open source!

You're having a giraffe, as us Cockneys might say, our local dialect here is between Cockney and East Anglian, it's known as Estuary English!

Andrew Richard Wainwright and Katherine Ann Wainwright (nee Morton) love their mother and mother-in-law Margaret Anne Wainwright and her late mother Marian Heywood. They are two women who are very highly respected in all sense of the word. And even respectable too!

Other Notes

We've just cut and pasted on Ardour a loop made in Reason and done the same with the vocal sample.

Other than malware getting in our way by sneaky means such as through a VGA cable knocking out our monitor?

Just vocals and drums. Neither Katie or myself were born in Africa, but this is African music. Are we African? Science suggests the human race is African, and we are people!
