Ambient synth, Bass and clean guitar from colab's stems.
Drums from GarageBand.
Guitar was my 'live' instrument recording.
Original Samples
Lead guitar melodies (clean and electric versions).
Process
Downloaded colab's stems. Arranged his synth, bass lines. Decided his clean guitar portion should be the chorus part. Also applied a distortion effect to his synth and made that an additional layer.
Then added drums, lead/ clean guitar melody (took me several attempts before I was happy with the final version).
Mixed and tweaked the track effect settings (e.g. boosted the bass, reduced the treble).
Other Notes
I wanted this song to be part of the "Twilight" series. Near the end, you'll hear a familiar melody (if you've heared the sample from "The Hill").
