How I Did It

Tools I Used
Garage Band (software instruments and loops). Percussion tracks include: "Tibetan Peace Bowl", Asian drums and cymbals. Choral voices created using the "African Voices" software instrument in GB.
Samples I Used
GarageBand ambient loop (about 10 seconds worth).
Original Samples
The African Voices track was composed for this song.
I guess the percussion tracks and the bass track (in the middle of the song) can be said to be created for this work. I didn't create them from scratch though. They were adapted from the GarageBand percussion loops -- the Tibetan Peace Bowl and Asian drums/ cymbals loops. I modified them by tweaking the individual MIDI notes. And also adapted the notes to a Bass software instrument.
Process
Imported Teru's loops to GarageBand. Then searched for suitable loops in GarageBand. Modifed them and aligned them to fit the timing of Teru's sample (his was a tweeny-weeny faster than 100 bps).
Added the African Voices, toyed around with it's placement. Decided it should come in the middle. Reworked the recording by tweaking the MIDI notes. Then tweaked and modified the earlier percussion effects to balance out the choir track. Last was to add Colab's bass samples.
Finally, I tweaked the volume levels for each individual tracks so that all individual tracks blended nicely.
Other Notes
Amazes me how my original sample was turned into this fantastic interpretation by Teru (who remixed it from other ccMixters). The feel and interpretation of this song was not something I would've come up alone. So I'm really standing on the shoulders of other ccMixter giants!
