Genesis of the song

Susan wrote wonderful lyrics and melody for the Rey_DM instrumental. Upon hearing Susan’s remix, decided that bringing up the vocals and reducing the guitar during the vocals would be a reasonable remix. Then sloppiness set in and a slightly new version of Susan’s song emerged.

Pasted in the vocals four bars later than Susan’s version. A new groove emerged.

For more presence, ran Susan’s voice through Alloy 2. Adjusted (butchered) one of Susan’s phrases to get a fit and moved, repeated or cut out some parts. Otherwise, the vocal is used “as is”.

Reduced the guitar gain and panned to the right during the vocals. Also, side chained Susan’s vocal to a compressor in the guitar track to press the gain down a little further when she was sangin’.
