Frank has such an amazing voice I’ve taken the liberty to place him back about 50 years ago when the distinctive Tamla Motown sound suddenly busted into millions of white guys bedrooms across the US.
After soaking up some old Motown tunes I came up with this simple shuffle groove. Old Berry Gordy believes in the KISS principle. (keep it simple stupid) So for once I think I followed it - Frank first dressed in a sharp velvet lapelled 50’s suit, bass line/bass drum second, piano triads next, rest of the drums, horns then strings. Mixing down I tried to emulate the sound of a late 1950’s recording studio. Hope you guys like it. Scomber x
