We were in Dublin recently, and the live music you hear in pubs is amazing. This is also inspired by Anchor’s recreations of old song forms.
(the tin whistle and scratchy folk fiddle are played by me)

Spring Song

Tall flowers stand under the broad-leafed tree
And the grass grows green and fair
We soak in sun til the day is done
And love is in the air
And love is in the air

Well the world turns old and the world turns young
It’s a new world every day
But the youngest song is the oldest song
For there’s nothing new to say
No there’s nothing new to say

Two lovers stand upon the hill
We’ll call them Jack and Jill
Well Jack says ‘Jill will you marry me’
And Jill says ‘yes I will’
And she says ‘oh yes I will’

Well the world turns old and the world turns young
It’s a new world every day
But the youngest song is the oldest song
For there’s nothing new to say
No there’s nothing new to say
