These are words I wrote on the train, put to Gurdonark’s Charles The Cat, along with source track audio I recorded from Union Station.
The Pilgrim I am boarding the train Tons of metal on shiny rails bells chiming and brakes sighing and the passengers all lined up to ride What is the mystic captured of the blowing horn? How does the glinting track hold it’s tongue? Who will carry on this human majesty? My time here is ending I watched the landscape slide by effortlessly the engine burning with powerful strokes and the ticket man checks me in I am switched on to perceive my own meaning my train take me to a new past future memories await at the end of the line a merchant ship pretends to set sail for shores once untamed and distant a beautiful young girl awaits heart beating with anticipation she makes poetry out of history and a proud father out of me outside the world turns inside a stillness perception is relative i am alone in my observation though the seats are filling up for destinations unknown i see in every heart there is a train rolling on wheels of emotion powered by desire looking forward to expectation my train rolls on to love my train sees a smiling face my train makes magic on the platform of my mind promising priceless experiences singing songs of freedom filled with a white hope under cloudless skies waves breaking on sunbleached time I sing silently for each mile as I make my way to her.
