Tingle Tongue

Tingle-tongue is a tree which grows in the southern USA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
It’s also called prickly ash. Taste its bark, and your tongue starts to tingle. Some folks use it for toothaches, but my memory is not one of deadened pain but instead of heightened interest, the numbing joy of a tingle. For this song, I took the background vocals from Lisa DeBenedictis’ Mint and Whiskey and turned a stray “oooh” into the voice for the synthesizer which propels the melody. The Brighton-Steiner school percussion makes for the secondary melody (because one can never have enough cowbell-like sounds).
