Never Take Mine

Media should be more weirdbient.
Recently I recorded an EP of music, titled “Seven Virtues”, which was made in one of the somewhat offbeat ways in which I make music. The “making of” story is here: http://gurdonark.livejourna... The melody is called “Prudence”, prudence being one of the seven virtues. It’s the sound of a wooden mallet being tapped against an Orrefors crystal, as are all the songs on “Seven Virtues”. This album is being released under a Creative Commons attribution license to be available for free downloading, remixing, use in videos, and whatever-you-wish, with attribution. I’d post a link to this music at http://www.jamendo.com, but it’s not yet cleared moderation. Jamendo moderates its uploads to ensure that no copyrighted material is uploaded. The good folks at Jamendo have to take steps like this in the current climate. Until they do, my EP is frozen in place. I am not opposed to copyright, and favor a hybrid system. But I thimk there are significant ways in which both law and commercial culture can be tweaked to create a more sharing economy. This bit of “fair use” seeks to help address the point.
