Leda


In May the weather changes over to rain.
The river floods; sound of water
falling into water, wild iris and lilies.

I wake up in a revolution of new landscapes.
I’ll stay indoors until the windows crash.
If you touch my absence, long periods of
silence will overpower you.
For a million years the rain will fall.
Be still now; stop waiting for Osiris fishing
out fragments of forgotten prayers and
Leda swimming in the eddies
with her fallen friends.
