Unleash My Song

My song, my song, you have fallen deep into the sea.

I have searched your floor, and not found me.

The bottom is murky, I hunt for you.

Red clouds obscure your sapphire blue.

What’s this, now schools of fleeing fish,

Swim madly from a smoking cave.

Where are they going, now knowing

From what sadness they are saved?

Ah yes …

The beast devours and spews, all whom defy

His gaping lust for surly crimes and deadly dues.

The bones of many lie broken where he stands.

His feet have pounded crystal dreams to sand.

His hands have muzzled minstrel gypsy bands.

Their chords and chimes are silenced in this land.

This jealous fear, this hulking covetous embrace,

Of free creations play in words of love through space.

Here breeds a choking pain from loss and stolen gain.

Cold words and deeds but no healing song remains.

What sense this attempt to keep deep pockets glad,

While hearts lurk in this dark cave made sad and mad?

But come now, we escape—it is surely not too late,

Come forth in music free to ride the dancing waves.

Let bards of song swim open seas and flee from bottom caves.

Let ocean words and melodies flow strong, unleashed and brave.
