From the play BoxWindowDoor for which I am the music director. This music plays at the end of the first act, and marks the descent of Margaret, the protagonist, further into the world of dreams where ultimately she will experience liberating transformation. All of the action of the play takes place in Margaret’s dreamworld which is accentuated through the music.

I have been working on this theatrical production for a while. It has evolved over time. If you are interested in knowing more you can visit us here, here, or here. Or just ask, and I’ll be happy to tell you about it. If you are in the Los Angeles area, we would love to see you at our upcoming performances June 26 (1:00pm and 5:00pm) as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival.

MARGARET’S LULLABY
words by Evelyn Stettin

she can’t tell
She can’t tell us where she’s going to be
she can’t tell
She can’t tell us how to set her free
she can’t tell
She can’t tell us any little thing
she can’t tell
She can’t tell us how badly she wants to sing

It’s time for Margaret’s coffin dreams
It’s time for Margaret’s coffin dreams
It’s time for Margaret’s coffin dreams
The dreams we hope will set her free
