The Torn Beauty

As humans we search for recognition. The hunger for someones affirmation of our purpose here. But it is transient. It passes quickly by and we end up chasing its memory until we can search no more. Its then we have the blues!
We are immersed in the fabric that is wrapped around our lives A little bit of cloth taken from a run down shop And stretched over our broken heart In time when the memories fine and the potatoes are all peeled I’ll give you home grown truths good advice for you to feel Or you can throw it all back in my face Somewhere where the sunshine glared on a crowded beach in Italy I ran my fingers down the oceans rocks they almost spoke to me Spoke of nights before we broke the spell One day when justice plays a better hand than now I will confess I will address the great unrest I always felt somehow It tore the beauty from me You have credentials bought with time I now know that it was wasted A sprinkle here a sprinkle there the magic I never tasted
