Black Gypsy Magic / Arid Dry Land - Travel By Night

This the combination of two poems I wrote - A Traveling Song (Black Gypsy Magic) and Arid Dry Land of Tears - with Javolenus’ beautiful diddy of a track in Travel By Night. I know that Javolenus’ track was perfect in every way but I thought this treatment extends the ‘narrative’ a little. I hope you enjoy. The poetry tracks are being uploaded as well as some more poems I have written years ago and recorded very recently.

run my mind ragged

spark a ring of fire
around the room
like a deep calling
to your soul-windows

Arid Dry Land of Tears:

we trace the contures
of our faces in the rain
bathed in the bitter remorse
of history and blodd
and families and time
and overstuffed tables
of sustainance and
our memories of the
arid, dry land
of tears

we trace the contures
of our plaster-cracked walls
bleached like our songs
by permanent light
that blinds and binds
and transforms us
into rocks and trees
and rain for our
arid, dry land
of tears
