ccMixter is committed to providing a place where liberally licensed music can be freely shared. In order to maintain the integrity of the site, it is very important that we ensure all material uploaded to ccMixter is done so with permission of any sourced artists. The admin team makes its best efforts to monitor the remixes, samples, and pells that are uploaded daily. However, sometimes material that includes more restrictive license rights makes its way in. If you ever come across something that should not be uploaded to ccMixter, please feel free to send the admins a note. Your assistance in this regard is much appreciated. Thank you.

Is this just a reminder or have there been problems?

Well it is a reminder, but it is always a problem. CCMixter is supposed to be a site showcasing music under a permissive copyleft license. The idea is to showcase works by artists and remixers who want their music shared, not to violate the copyright of “all rights reserved” artists.

A lot of music gets uploaded to the site, and the only way to ensure it is all pure as the driven snow is if everyone helps keep an eye on it. :-)
