Browsing samples is a lot of hassle. Or is there an easy way?

Currently this is the best way to browse samples. You can also browse ccMixter content here.

ah - I’m afraid that’s the best we got.

What would you like to see it look/act like?

But than again I realy love the rest of ccMixter :)

The way I see it, is that when you listen or downloaded a sample and you want to try an other one in the same tags category, you are send back to the browser homepage and you have to click the tags again. And you have to repeat this cycle over and over. It’s time consuming. Or am I missing something?

if there is a preview-able file (as opposed to just zip file) then you should be able to stay right there and click on the speaker button:

make sense?

ah, wait, some browsers will switch pages to load the sample to play.

if your browser is doing that, right click on the speaker and choose ‘Open in new tab’ or ‘window’

I’m getting an “Connextion Problem” message when clicking the speaker or triangle in the result page. I can only audition the sample by clicking the links and entering the sample info on the lefthand side. After i have opened the sample info page and listenend or downloaded a sample and want to try the next one in the result list than i’m forced all the way back to the sample browser and start the tagging over again.

the bad news is that I’m traveling for the next week and won’t have access to a vista box, but I will try to recreate what you’re describing at that time.

really sorry you’re having issues and thanks for being so patient.
