Traktor and hardware controller options?

If anyone has experience with using Traktor with a dedicated hardware controller, could you make a recommendation on equipment to look into?
I would like to extend the tools I use today (Reason 4) with DJ techniques - and Traktor seems to fit the requirement perfectly. I would run it on a laptop and would prefer an all-in-one controller rather than using multiple pieces of hardware. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Behringer has some interesting controllers, too. The BCF2000 and the BCR2000. Reason 4 is ready for them out of the box. However I find the motorized faders on the BCF2000 jumping around very disconcerting, and would drive everyone else in the room nuts even if you’re working with headphones.
The BCR2000 has only rotary controllers and more of them - so I would prefer that one. Also NI (Native Instruments) just put out a new hardware/software product called “Maschine”. That looks very cool when looking for a more tactile way of making music. I’ve just seen it in the store for the first time and it looks intriguing. |

Thanks - I have done a good amount of research on Reason controllers, and my most likely purchase is the Euphonix Artist series (Control and Mix).
But this was more specifically about Traktor and controllers. The second you shift to DJ software, it sort of changes the types of hardware that goes with it. Maschine is terrific, but it’s really meant to be for Ableton (sort of the same way Akai’s APC40 is designed specifically for Ableton) |

yeah - I wasn’t sure, how much you had committed to Traktor, or if you were still exploring in more general terms.

I’m fairly sold on Traktor for a specific purpose. I’m not planning to drop Reason, but rather complement what I do there with a new set of techniques. |
