If you listen to the repetitive backup vocal “away” behind the first male vocal part, it changes from Patricia’s voice to a group backup vocal. There is one group “away” in the last vocal segment as well. Found the word “away” sung in one of your songs and in one of Jason’s. Those words are layered with Patricia’s voice to create the ccMixter sangers. You and Jason sound so smoove and blended that I can see where you wouldn’t pick it out “:0) I often used this technique. Searching for words and phrases within ccMixter songs to create backup or counterpoint vox. |

ElRon will be pleased with the Bootsy analogy. Since he got this particular Fender P bass fixed up and bought a Digitech tube floor gadget for it, he was anxious to record. Created this so that he had a funky song to play and record bass. |

Was aiming for a Sly & Family Stone feel but I think the Prince analogy is a good observation. Fishbone can rock funky. Versitile band and good show. I heard Fishbone live in their early daze. I can hear some Sly Stone like vibes in some Fishbone stuff like Everyday Sunshine |
