A masterpiece. I admit I’m not a huge fan of spoken word to b/t but occasionally it works and is stunning. This works! Fantastic use of samples and ejc’s writing is superbly disturbing. I absolutely love this, Speck. xxxx

There are a few mixters who know how to achieve the mystery and beauty of the musical and sound settings of “A Space Odyssey”. The opening few moments of this do that.

Then it changes into a kind of patient electronica backed up by mournful wailing, building from contemplative to insistent over a slowly simmering fire, until it ends with the space pads again, with the ominous “ancient blood.”

You’ve got a talent for making “thinking” music - music that calls to be listened to as intelligently as the listener is capable of.

Delicate and intense. Very inspired piece.

Very cool. Love the relaxed beat and the patient build-up.

If it was me I would have pulled back on the synths and have given ejc just a bit more room to breathe at the 40% point or so (when “the beauty of usage” comes back) but that’s literally my only criticism.

And I searched closely for them. :)

Oh I can find more. What about the hiss during the intro and outro, and that wobbly sound that comes from too much time stretching?

Didn’t really notice the hiss, and sort of like the wobbly sound. More importantly they didn’t detract from the enjoyment and therefore no crime occurred.

Excellent build up (and towards the end, retraction). This sounds so inspired and confident. It’s very very good.

Love the way you’re playing Anomaly’s voice. And thanks for turning me on to Sturzstrom’s mix. Good play!
