I really like how you’ve built this, gradually adding instrumentation to fill out the frequency spectrum, not to mention adding slowly to the excitement. Interesting to read your description notes after hearing it. I was thinking ‘could use more low end’, wasn’t going to mention it… but that didn’t ruin it for me. Very much enjoyed the listen.

Whoa. Blast from the past. I’m thoroughly delighted to hear your music again.

I agree with Speck on the build-up - it’s lovely. Your strings and piano are up to their normal standard - stunning stuff, and I really like how you’ve blended that with electronic / slightly glitched sounds.

I like this a lot. Welcome back. Hope you stick around for a while. :)

I am not a big fan of the mixing stage either and sometimes I just can get it to sound halfway decent. But this sounds very good to me, at least on headphones. And from a remixing/songwriting perspective it’s even better than that.

mixing & mastering are my huge weaknesses…so i can totally relate. this is such a lovely mix…i love how you combined the two vocals and your shifting of keys to make them work so harmoniously with your lush production.

each section is wonderfully crafted. this mix is knocking my socks off!!! thank you!

Well, thanks to all! :) I may end up going back when I have time and messing with the bass again. There also was an annoying little “snap” sound right before the reverbed piano comes in. Couldn’t get rid of it and I don’t know where the hell it was coming from!

it was AMAZING to meet you in person Monday night. i am still relishing in the delight! we’re listening to your mix again….you are much too humble (but that makes you that much more enjoyable to be with)….hoping for more collaborative opportunities in the near future! peace….

Hello Mr. Lasswell. This is lovely and well tagged - dreamy and atmospheric indeed. The “Apologize” pella had a heyday some time back - it seems almost quaint that we were worried about a mass of little bits of garbage in the ocean considering what’s happening now. It’s nice to hear the words and voice drifting in this mix as the gyre drifts on the sea.

As for the mix (you brought it up), we should all mix so poorly ;-). I know your frustration is real. The gap between imagined outcome and product created is often a wide chasm if you have any ambition at all, even for mortals like me.

This is a gorgeous mix, Cameron. You have a wonderful way in choosing your sounds that is unmatched. Your strings make me swoon :-).

I almost forgot to breathe, I was so overcome by the feeling that accompanied the opening of the track — the gentle emergence of the beats reminded me to take a breath. Absolutely fabulous! (p.s. I was enjoying listening so much that I was disappointed when the track ended.)

What a fantastic production! I have to agree on the low end missing a tad but it is still amazing. The crispness of the vocals really blew me away.

Phenomenal mix and arrangement! I’m relatively new, but this is easily one of my favorites on ccMixter so far.
